Electrician
Working as part of the skilled trades group and in conformance with the Electrician job scope, the incumbent performs planned and emergency repairs to all building fire alarm and life safety systems, wiring, devices, and equipment in accordance with a division-developed calendar to meet all National Fire Prevention Association, and State Fire Marshall's Office compliance requirements. Incumbent performs work to achieve timely completion and full documentary compliance of this planned work along with any emergency or other unplanned fire and life safety system work that may arise.
Repairs and Maintenance: Installs, tests, repairs, troubleshoots, replaces, fabricates, modifies, maintains, performs planned and emergency repairs to fire systems, wiring, devices, and equipment.
Administrative/Technical: Coordinates with project managers and building inspectors. Keep up-to-date, accurate, and comprehensive project records including plans, specifications, submittals, schedules, annual testing reports, requests, changes, approvals, and costs.
Performs all work in compliance with EH&S health and safety policies, OSHA and other applicable federal, state and local fire, health, safety, emergency-preparedness, pollution-prevention policies, RSSP policies and procedures and University of California's policies and procedures, including Code of Conduct, IIPP (Safety and Health Procedures), Hazardous Materials Communications Program, Health and Safety Manual, as well as any other document authorized by the RSSP management to have bearing on employee safety and conduct.
Treats customers, co-workers, supervisors and managers with respect and courtesy. Employed as a journey-level electrician for a minimum of 4 years including a minimum of two years performing installation, trouble—shooting, and repair of fire alarm systems.
Thorough knowledge of applicable local and state codes and standards.
State of California Journeyman Electrician license.
