This position, as a Mammogram Technologist, is responsible for working directly with patients and assisting radiologist while administering ionizing radiation in the course of mammography procedures. This professionally trained person will be responsible for the operation of the Digital mammography system, Technologist Workstation, CAD, Magview, Radiology Information System, Picture Archiving System, Vacuum assisted Biopsy system. This person may be required to operate the Bone Densitometer and Stereotactic equipment upon occasion. This position is responsible for providing patient care and patient safety as established by department standards.
This Mammogram Technologist position is responsible for performing a variety of basic secretarial, clerical and housekeeping functions such as customer service, examination and work area cleaning, telephone communications, computer system data entry, information retrieval, MQSA and ACR standards, maintaining supplies, infection control. This person must be capable of providing education and support services for our patients. This position in addition to superb technical skills will also require the ability to follow the Imaging Associates service commitments to customers and fellow staff. This position under supervision of the radiologist performs mammographic examinations utilizing a variety of radiologic equipment.
**Sign on bonus of $7,500 gross shall be paid after 6 months of employment.**
Requirements
Education: Successful completion of an AMA approved training program for radiologic technology.
Experience: Two years experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred. One year clinical experience as a mammographer preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Must be ARRT registered. Mammography registration required within one (1) year of hire. Must remain in good standing with governing bodies such as: American College of Radiology(ACR) and Mammography Quality Standards Act(MQSA)
Other Qualifications: Requires extensive knowledge of breast anatomy and physiology. Requires knowledge of breast pathology and mammographic signs of pathology. Must have knowledge of all mammographic positions and the ability to radiographically record the required information. Must be capable of preparing rooms for biopsy and maintaining sterile environment.
Attendance: Regular Attendance is a requirement of this position.
English Language: Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Summary
Procedures: Performs a variety of mammographic procedures according to clinical and national standards.
Documentation: Responsible for accurately completing records, daily quality assurance and improvement information, meeting regulatory standards. Obtains and documents patient history information
Equipment: Calibrates, maintains and troubleshoots equipment. Optimizes equipment and supplies to benefit operations.
Supplies and Inventory: Stocks work area daily. May be involved in ordering and stocking general supplies.
Safety and Education: Compiles with national radiation standards (ALARA) Completes education necessary to maintain licensure or certification required for position.
Communication: Communicates with physicians and other members of the team concerning patient status, diagnosis, or related information. Operates multiple communication and telecommunication systems. Coordinates scheduling for diagnostic exams. Communicates with team members by regular participation in staff meetings.
