We provide total building system design and construction services across multiple high-growth markets throughout the country for industry leaders. A Designer II is responsible for designing intermediate building systems, preparing design documents and performing engineering calculations in coordination with project teams. Drafting & Design

Performs calculations and designs basic to intermediate design systems with minimal supervision.
Reviews shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
Prepares or modifies reports, plans and designs for projects.

Performs research and makes recommendations as to the feasibility of systems or equipment. Evaluates products for their application.
Maintains proactive communication throughout the project cycle.
Visits job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
Assists in resolving conflicts involving owners, architects and contractors as needed.
Maintains knowledge and understanding of industry software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office Products. Acts as a resource for training or assisting others as needed.
Understands and applies Henderson's design guidelines, standards, policies and procedures.
Project Management

Performs a limited range of project management responsibilities under the supervision of experienced managers. May support or be responsible for project coordination activities such as managing emails, coordinating scope and schedule, attending client meetings, ensuring project quality, responding to client questions and coordinating project delivery.
Takes responsibility for personal actions and delivers on commitments.

Bachelor's degree in relevant field of engineering (ie: mechanical, electrical, fire protection or architectural) and 3 years of relevant experience or 6 years of experience with high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Additional certifications and accreditations aligned with the relevant technical field (e.g., Intermediate knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, A&E industry, codes, design guides and standards required. Knowledge applicable to a range of practices, project or program types preferred.
Intermediate proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu required.
Team oriented and willingness and ability to function in a highly collaborative environment, in group projects and leading less experienced designers. Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and adjust to coaching.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and engineering design software applicable to your discipline or focus.
Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
Occasional travel may be required (10-15%).
Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
