Hiring Range: $67,222.80 - $88,229.93
This is an exempt (salaried) position. Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. Internal equity consideration included an assessment of the applicant’s salary history and qualifications in comparison to the market rate and requirement for the job.
This role is on-site 5 days a week, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A county car will be provided for this role.
Position Summary Performs work evaluating and administering treatments for patients with sensory processing, fine motor, visual motor, feeding, functional play, self care, attention and motor disorders. This position works independently under general supervision assessing, planning, organizing, and participating in rehabilitative programs that help build or restore persons with disabilities or developmental delays. This role is primarily a treatment role.
About The Division Of Child And Family Well-Being At NC DHHS the Division of Child and Family Well-Being (DCFW) focuses on supporting whole child and family health and well-being for North Carolinians. DCFW works to ensure that North Carolina’s children grow up safe, healthy and thriving in nurturing and resilient families and communities. DCFW has complementary programs from the Divisions of Public Health, Mental Health, and Social Services to maximize services and outcomes for children and their families, including nutrition programs (SNAP, WIC and Child and Adult Care Food Program), health and prevention services for children and youth, children’s behavioral health services, and early intervention programs. The North Carolina Early Intervention Section (NCEI) is a part of the N.C. Division of Child and Family Well-being. It is the lead agency for the N.C. Infant-Toddler Program (ITP). The Infant-Toddler Program provides support and services for families and their children, birth to three who have special needs. Research shows that this time period is critical. It offers a window of opportunity to make a positive difference in how a child develops and learns. Children’s Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs) across North Carolina work with local service providers to help families help their children succeed.
Essential Functions Examine, test, diagnose, and administer treatments for patients with sensory processing, fine motor, visual motor, feeding, attention, functional play.
Refer patients to other agencies for treatment of problems related to or underlying sensory processing, fine motor, visual motor, feeding, attention, functional play.
Serve as one of two or more disciplines conducting initial evaluations and assessing all areas of a child’s development for NC Infant-Toddler Program eligibility and ongoing intervention.
Provide discipline-specific evaluations with children birth to age three, following appropriate evaluation procedures and protocols.
Utilize appropriate evaluation instruments and protocol to address referral questions with individual children.
Participate in gathering and discussing evaluation information and results with parents and other staff in ways that address their concerns and priorities.
This role includes a fluctuating caseload of treatment cases. It ranges from 20-25 cases/week.
Write assessment reports that follow professional, state, and department guidelines.
Bill for services as approved/documented.
Provide input for the modification of services and support as part of treatment planning.
Develop, coordinate, and conduct staff training (in-service).
Experience Minimum Qualifications Minimum of two years of relevant experience working with young children and their families.
Education Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Pathology, or related field.

Licenses and Certifications North Carolina licensure as issued by the Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists or Audiologists or Occupational Therapy
Certification by the American Occupational Association
Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License
Requires County Driving Privileges
Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required
Preferred Qualifications Master's/Doctorate degree preferred

Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills: Having achieved a satisfactory level of technical and professional skill or knowledge in position-related areas; keeping up with current developments and trends in areas of expertise
Computer Skills Proficient in various computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite
