About Us Dean & Deluca Sushi brings restaurant-grade sushi to the Upper West Side, featuring high-quality ingredients, expert preparation, and a refined approach to fresh, made-daily sushi.
The Sushi Cook prepares a variety of sushi, sashimi, rolls and other Japanese cuisine items. This role requires expertise in knife skills, seafood handling, food presentation, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen while delivering consistent quality.
Prepares sushi, sashimi, nigiri, specialty rolls and other dishes.
Clean, cut, and prepare fresh fish, seafood, vegetables and other ingredients.
Ensure food is prepared according to recipes, quality standards and customers preferences.
Maintain proper food storage, sanitation, and safety procedures.
Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
Keep the sushi station clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift.
Inspect ingredients for freshness and quality.
Assist with menu preparation and daily food production.
Previous experience as a sushi cook or chef preferred.
Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques.
Food Handlers Card preferred
