As a Project Manager within Caterpillar's Hosting Services team, you will lead a range of initiatives supporting our on-premise infrastructure environment. These projects span large IT infrastructure deployments as well as smaller process-driven efforts such as vulnerability remediation. You will coordinate resources across technical tower teams-including Data Center Management, Network, Compute, Storage, VMware, Operating Systems, Data Protection, Disaster Recovery, and Automation-to ensure projects are delivered accurately, on time, and within budget. Your ability to guide complex workstreams, manage risks, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and maintain operational discipline will be essential to enabling successful project outcomes.

Manage full lifecycle delivery of infrastructure and process improvement projects, from initiation through closure.

Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and documentation to support execution and governance.

Facilitate regular project meetings to review milestones, risks, issues, and decision needs.

Identify project risks and dependencies and develop mitigation and contingency plans.

Partner with Procurement, Contract Management, and Infrastructure teams on project-related purchases and vendor activities.

Track project spend, validate forecasts, and support financial accountability across assigned work.

Support annual planning cycles by contributing project forecasts and infrastructure demand inputs.

Use tools such as Azure DevOps and Microsoft Project to support project activities.

Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

5+ years of IT-related Project Management experience.

  • Strong teamwork, analytical thinking, adaptability, and customer service orientation.
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar environments and IT operations is a plus.
  • PMP, ACP, CSM, PSM or equivalent are valued.
