Overview Position: General Substitute Teacher Application

Have a Current Substitute Teaching License, Professional Teaching License, or Non-Tax Certificate
Have attended or be willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training
Sign the substitute teacher job description and employment agreement and email to Carrie Ramsay at View email address on click.appcast.io: You will be notified by e-mail when all items have arrived and your name is added to the substitute teacher list.
Licensure Anyone substituting for the Diocese of Columbus will need to obtain either a Standard Substitute Teaching License or a Temporary Non-Bachelor’s Degree Substitute Teaching License, if not already holding a teaching credential or non-tax certificate.

Be sure to have the results sent to the Diocese of Columbus, Attn: Safe Environment Office, 197 E. Gay Street, Columbus, OH 43215 and to the State Board of Education of Ohio.
Application Timeline The Diocese will maintain your online substitute teaching application for two school years. Approved substitutes will receive an e-mail mid-July/early August of every school year asking if they wish to remain on the substitute teacher list for the new school year.
