Join Story County Medical Center as an Ultrasound Technician in our Radiology Department! Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Ultrasound Technician performs diagnostic and interventional ultrasound procedures while exercising independent judgment, technical expertise, and initiative. This position plays an important role in providing quality diagnostic services that directly contribute to excellent patient care. As an Ultrasound Technician, you will:

Perform ultrasound procedures in a variety of medical settings.
Assist providers in gathering sonographic data.
Perform appropriate procedures and accurately record anatomical, pathological, and physiological data.
Record and process sonographic data and pertinent observations for interpretation by the provider.
Provide patient education related to medical ultrasound and promote principles of good health.
Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate good public relations.
Communicate effectively with nursing staff, medical staff, and other hospital departments.
Maintain supply inventory and stock supplies in work areas.
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology School and two-year AMA school of Radiologic Technology.
ARDMS registered in vascular, cardiac, abdomen, breast, OB-GYN, or registry eligible.
Current Iowa Permit to Practice as a general radiographer.
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible.
Dependent Adult and Child Mandatory Reporter certification within 90 days of hire.
1-2 years of clinical ultrasound experience in a hospital or outpatient setting.

Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and understanding imaging principles.
