Psychiatrist Weekend

Greater Binghamton Health Center (GBHC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting a Psychiatrist 3 to provide clinical and administrative oversight of medical staff assigned to adult and children inpatient units and outpatient clinics.

As the Psychiatrist 3, you will be responsible for ensuring inpatient and outpatient treatment programs align with the clinical mission of patient-centered care at GBHC including:

Providing clinical and administrative supervision to medical staff including psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and medical specialists.

Mentoring and training psychiatry residents and medical students.

Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments including diagnosis, treatment plans, medication management, and counseling.

Overseeing the quality of treatment services provided by medical staff and ensuring compliance with OMH standards.

Conducting case reviews, providing treatment recommendations, and participating in treatment planning.

Collecting and analyzing data related to medication management and treatment outcomes to enhance care.

GBHC provides an integrated network of inpatient and outpatient services for adults and children living in New York's Southern Tier through evidence based, person-centered treatment and recovery-oriented programs to help individuals in need of mental health services lead fulfilling lives in the community. GBHC’s inpatient services include 96 beds for adults and 13 beds for children and adolescents. Additional services include Outpatient Clinics, Recovery and Vocational Services, Residential Transitional Living, Family Care, Adolescent Day Treatment, a Mobile Integration Team, an Adolescent Crisis Residence, and an OnTrackNY program.

Psychiatrist Loan Repayment Program offering up to $120,000

Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State; Certification in psychiatry by the ABPN; Two (2) years of post-board certification experience as a member of the psychiatric staff in a psychiatric hospital and/or in the psychiatry department of a general hospital, one (1) year of which must have included clinical supervision of other psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, or fellows.
