Job Description JSG is recruiting a Technical Associate – Research & Development candidate for a 2 nd shift role in Wilmington DE

You will operate and support advanced equipment, including a focused-ion beam scanning electron microscope (FIB-SEM), to deliver critical insights that drive product development and innovation. Your expertise will enable us to explore new materials, refine processes, and deliver exceptional analytical support to our research, technical service, and manufacturing teams—all while advancing your skills in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

Prepare samples for analysis using mechanical polishers, plasma or sputter coaters, and FIB-SEM techniques such as cross-section milling and lift-out procedures.
Conduct FIB-SEM imaging, perform energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDS), electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD), and evaluate data quality.
Review and organize collected data, preparing reports for internal teams and customers.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to keep equipment operating at peak performance.
Collaborate with team members across shifts to ensure seamless operations and data continuity.
Participate in training sessions during daytime hours, with the flexibility to work second shift hours (approx. Bachelor of Science (B.in chemistry, materials science, physics, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience with electron microscopy and chemical handling in a laboratory setting.
