Position: Inpatient PACU/Preop Day RN
Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
This position is for an Inpatient PACU/Preoperative Day Registered Nurse (RN) in a dynamic healthcare environment. The role involves caring for patients in various settings, primarily focusing on the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Preoperative needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia.
Assess and monitor patient conditions throughout the recovery process.
Manage care for pediatric patients, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Administer medications and monitor vital signs for patient stability.
Assist in preoperative assessments and education, preparing patients for surgical interventions.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Perform various technical skills including IV placement, phlebotomy, and sedation administration.
Requirements:
Experience: ICU or ED experience required.
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
Skills: Phase I and Phase II recovery, dysrhythmia management, medication administration including antiarrhythmics and opioids, and patient assessment protocols.
Must be able to recognize and manage hyperglycemia/hypoglycemia, and respond to emergencies such as cardiac arrest.
Ability to perform technical procedures including intubation, airway management, and discharge instructions.
Additional Details:
This role requires floating to various departments including PAT, MAIN PACU, and GI Lab based on facility needs.
Call and weekend work is required; approximately every other or every third weekend shift.
Sunday nights are not considered weekends.
Team members must submit RTO (Request Time Off) upfront with no exceptions.
