Senior Counsel (Immediate Hire)

Senior Patent Counsel (Global Legal Organization) Locations: San Diego, CA; Spring House, PA; Key Responsibilities Draft and prosecute patent applications
Advise business on patent and regulatory exclusivity strategy
Review, draft, and advise IP-related contracts
Partner with litigation department on patent-related litigations and disputes
Key Attributes Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence
Clear communication of complex legal issues
Intellectual curiosity and perseveranceAbility to work across functions, cultures, and time zones (San Diego: frequent early‑morning video conferences, typically starting 7AM)
Degree in molecular biology or related field (graduate MS/PhD preferred)
5+ years drafting and prosecuting biologics (large molecule pharmaceuticals) patent applications
Advantage: patent due diligence/disputes, non‑infringement opinions, regulatory exclusivity strategy, or patent license drafting/counseling
Advantage: IP support for data/software, siRNA, small molecules, or drug/device combinations
Preferred Skills Business agility, collaborating, negotiation, risk management, strategic/tactical planning, dispute resolution, legal documents preparation, technical credibility
Holiday pay 13 days/yr
Bereavement leave 240 hrs (immediate) / 40 hrs (extended)
