Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Mechanical Technician - Level 4 to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA.

This position performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies and components. Drafts detailed drawings for fabrication. Devices, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies.

Performs mechanical assembly using space flight drawings and process documents.

Performs space flight bonding operations using various adhesives for thermal, electrical, and mechanical connections on complex composite and structural assemblies.

Perform assembly tasks using specific process requirements (bonding, drilling, torquing, etc) to support daily assignments.

Utilizes calibrated tools and shelf-life materials to perform assembly operations.

Basic Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.

Knowledge and experience with mechanical assembly and operations using at least one of the following: Experience working with space craft composite structures and performing fabrication tasks. (Drilling, bonding, abrading, etc....)

Experience using MS office tools and other software.

Ability to work off hours and weekends when needed.

Ability to travel, as necessary

Experience working on complex composite flight hardware.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
