Registered Nurse-Day & Night Shifts- ICU

RN - ICU

This is a float pool position at UCSF Health Medical Center at Parnassus. The shift details include 12-hour day and night rotating shifts. The schedule will be either day or night, but may switch depending on operational needs. The contract start date is September 1, 2026, and ends February 23, 2027, for a duration of 25 weeks.

The job requires a CA RN license, BSN, ACLS, BLS, and travel nursing experience for less than a year in the past five years. Minimum of four years recent ICU experience is required, including ECMO experience within the last six months to a year. Candidates must have experience caring for ECMO patients as a bedside RN and be able to independently manage complex critical care patients. CVICU/CTICU/CCU experience is strongly preferred.

Candidates should be assessed based on their ability to function within the UCSF ICU care model rather than ECMO experience alone. Prior ECMO experience should be considered one component of a broader competency profile that includes cardiovascular critical care, transplant, mechanical circulatory support, and multi-organ support therapies.

All travelers booked to this unit must have experience with the following: ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD, CRRT, and PA catheter. Modules are non-billable and vary by unit/specialty/position and can range between 1 hour to 24 hours. Anything over 24 hours is billable. Modules are completed pre-start and annually.
