The Foundation also owns and operates two world-class museums, the DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum, and the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum, and a renowned research library, the John D Rockefeller Jr Library.
Additionally, Colonial Williamsburg is home to five world class accommodations at the Williamsburg Inn, Williamsburg Lodge Autograph Collection, the Griffin Hotel, the Williamsburg Woodlands Hotels and Suites and the unique Colonial Houses in the Historical Area. Visitors may also indulge in food and drink at our many on site restaurants and taverns that blend a historically inspired dining experience with today's evolved tastes. Trains and provides input on the counseling, discipline, and complementing of employees within the standards of the hotel. Evaluates employee performance on a regular basis by communicating with employees and management on job performance.
Ensure prompt response to guest requests and complaints. Interactive with improving guest service, guest comfort and standards. Assists management in preparing and monitoring new standards, procedures, policies and operation plans in order to improve the department.
Prepares daily housekeeping assignments and special projects. Communicates often with the Front Desk on the turnover of rooms and rush rooms, and with Conference Services on public space needs.
Inspects all areas to achieve and maintain world class standards of maintenance, cleanliness and sanitation. Ensures par levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals and equipment are properly maintained daily. Accurately completes monthly linen and weekly guest supply inventory.
Develops and maintains a cooperative working relationship with other hotel departments, including but not limited to Banquets, Conference Services, Front Office, Maintenance, and Culinary operations.
Assists with administrative duties as needed.
This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. 2 or more years experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager in a 2-5 star hotel or resort property.

• Professional knowledge of sanitation, cleaning equipment, and cleaning productions and their safe and proper use.
• Must possess a valid Commonwealth of Virginia driver's license and have an acceptable driving record based on The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation's criteria.
• Associates Degree in Hotel Management or a closely related field.

Direct Supervision of Housekeeping Staff. Including Housekeeping Attendants, Room Attendants, Public Space Attendants and Carpet/Upholstery Workers
Physical and Environmental Demands:
Occasionally Lifting up to 50 lbs (with assistance): Occasionally Lifting up to 100 lbs (with assistance): Rarely More than 100 lbs (with assistance): Rarely Wet/humid conditions: Occasionally Work near moving mechanical parts: 40 hours a week (Full Time) Typical Schedule is between 7am - 5:30pm. Some occasional nights from 3pm - 11:30pm. Regular weekends.
Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as the selected candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, education, certifications, internal equity, and the specific requirements of the role.
