Job Description
ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
Position Overview
The ICU Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced intensive care unit. This role requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to manage critically ill patients. The RN will be responsible for monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and coordinating care plans.
Shift Details
Shift Length: 12 hours
Shift Type: Days
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Floating: May float between ICU and CCU, and possibly telemetry if needed
Unit Information
Unit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
Number of Beds: 12 beds in CCU or ICU
Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
Charge Nurse: Yes (no patient assignment)
Telemetry/Monitor Techs: Available 24/7
Required Qualifications
Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an ICU setting
Certifications:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
EKG Dysrhythmia Course (Advanced)

Responsibilities
Administer and monitor medications and IV drips including cardiozem, diprovan, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, fentanyl, and versed.
Manage ventilator-dependent patients.
Conduct patient assessments and document observations using the EMR system.
Provide care for various diagnoses including sepsis, CHF, COPD, and post-operative recovery.
Offer guidance and support to patients and their families.
Orientation and Training
Floor-specific orientation: 2-3 shifts on the unit.
One shift orientation available for telemetry if needed.
If desired, 3 shifts of orientation will be provided for floating to the emergency room.

Additional Information
All staff members may be required to float between ICU and CCU, and possibly tele if willing. Independent physicians manage patient care, with respiratory therapy and pharmacy services available 24/7.
