Purchasing Buyer, Senior

The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $42.00 - $50.00 per hour, depending on geographic location, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Employment Type: Temporary, approximately 5 months
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week
Coordinate global procurement of raw materials to meet master schedule and customer order requirements
Work with Supply Planning to place and reschedule Purchase Orders, optimizing inventory
Establish and maintain supplier relationships and partnerships
Analyze manufacturing data to guide production and process decisions
Review purchase requisitions/orders and manage procurement strategies, policies, and risk
Serve as key point of contact for requesters, managers, and suppliers on PR/PO issues
Resolve quality, pricing, and delivery issues with suppliers
Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice and receiving discrepancies
Keep critical projects on track despite delays or obstacles
Take a leadership role in process improvement and mentor less experienced peers
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, Quality Management System requirements, and company ethics standards
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Minimum 5 years of relevant procurement/purchasing experience
Experience with SAP or related MRP systems
Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, BOM, and planning
Experience with lean principles and supply chain/material flow management
Solid understanding of manufacturing, purchasing, scheduling, and planning processes
Experience developing and implementing ordering policies
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, Teams, and Outlook
Preferred: medical device supply base knowledge, medical device manufacturing experience, APICS or similar certification
Physical: extended computer use, extended sitting/standing, light lifting up to 25 lbs.
