We are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a collaborative role alongside a board-certified surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity care. The position involves a schedule integrated with both clinic and surgical operations. Secures patients' history and physical and records same in medical record.
Assists surgeon with daily rounds and records such as progress notes.
Assists the surgeon with major and minor surgical procedures in the operating room.
Closes surgical wounds and performs post-operative wound care, removal of K-wires, etc.
Transmits supervising surgeon's orders and ensures co-signature by surgeon.
Inserts foley catheters, prn.
Participates in on-call activities with assigned physician according to the Medical Center policy on allied health.
Performs minor surgical procedures within scope of licensure.
under supervision of the physician.
Sees patients in the clinic both independently and with supervision. Dictates clinic progress notes. Orders appropriate tests and develops patient treatment plans with physician approval.
Performs clinical research, presentations, and other academic activities, as needed with physician.
Assists in fielding/triaging physician calls.
Occasional exposure to electrical and chemical hazards
Requires verbal/written communication ability in the English language
Involves exposure to weather elements and travel to all assoc. Hospitals and/or HOA facilities.

Master of Science in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner Program.
Active Licensure as Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner in the State of Illinois.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
