CNA -NURSING CARE

Provides patient care as assigned and per routine as defined by educational scope, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures.

• Documents care provided according to standards.
• Maintains supplies, including scanning, stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.
• Floats to various units based on identified patient care needs.
• Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities.
• Training/precepting new partners in collaboration with unit educator
• Bladder scanner training complete (check off sheet for competency)
• Attaching patient to remote telemetry or bedside cardiac monitor

~ Managing and reporting collection devices:

• Colostomy, ileostomy or other fecal management systems: care and output measures
• Indwelling catheters: care and output measures
• Surgical drains under direction of supervising RN
• Quality - Follows policies and procedures; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Service - Responds promptly to requests for service and assistance; Pursues training and development opportunities; Reacts well under pressure; Uses equipment and materials properly; Utilizes appropriate equipment for partner/patient safety, such as lifts and gait belts.
