Job Description:

• Consistently utilize the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice to deliver nursing care:
• Conduct assessments
• Diagnose conditions
• Plan interventions
• Implement care strategies
• Evaluate patient outcomes
• Address the increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients, family members, and caregivers, identifying key issues and resources.

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience:

- 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

• Current BLS certification required (AHA only).
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only).
• RN License in the state of TX or compact.

• Newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires will be precepted by a designated trained staff member, with initial onboarding requirements validated through successful completion of designated organizational entry competency validation and MedSurg-specific competency validation.
• Newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or specific orientation, with skills completion documented through the program's tracking software.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.

- One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
