Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive Field Service Engineer to install, commission, maintain and repair electromechanical and electrical equipment at customer sites. The role focuses on ensuring high equipment availability and customer satisfaction through on-site troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs. The ideal candidate will combine strong electrical and electromechanical knowledge with proven field service experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while representing the company professionally. Key Responsibilities
Install, configure and commission electrical and electromechanical systems and equipment at customer locations.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
Troubleshoot and diagnose faults using electrical test equipment, schematics and diagnostic software; carry out repairs and replacements as required.
Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers, guiding them through operating procedures and corrective actions.
Document service activities, test results, fault logs and parts used in the companys service management system.
Manage spare parts inventory for assigned territory and coordinate with logistics to ensure timely parts availability.
Deliver customer training on safe operation and basic maintenance of equipment.
Collaborate with engineering and product support teams to escalate complex issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
Adhere to company safety policies and local regulatory requirements while working on-site, including lockout/tagout and PPE protocols.
Plan and manage service calls effectively, including travel scheduling, reporting, and follow-up to ensure customer issues are fully resolved.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Minimum 3 years of field service experience working with electrical and electromechanical equipment; experience in industrial environments preferred.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuitry, wiring, and control systems; ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Hands-on experience with electromechanical components such as motors, drives (VFDs), gearboxes, sensors and actuators.
Proficiency in using diagnostic and test equipment (multimeter, clamp meter, insulation tester, oscilloscope) and basic PLC troubleshooting skills.
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and control issues efficiently under time constraints.
Excellent customer-facing skills with clear verbal and written communication, and ability to train end users.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel frequently and work at customer sites, sometimes with overnight stays.
Ability to lift and handle equipment and to work in varied site conditions; commitment to following safety procedures.
Preferred: certifications in electrical safety, PLC programming, or specific equipment manufacturer training; experience with remote diagnostics and service management software.
