Twinsburg Family Health & Surgery Center offers a 24-hour Emergency Department with a helipad. This full-service ED is staffed and designed to provide quick and easy access for adults and children. Every second counts in an emergency. This is an excellent opportunity for a student who is looking to start their nursing career at Cleveland Clinic and work in a supportive and caring environment. Paramedics provide emergency treatment, including advanced life support, to patients in emergencies. The Paramedic's role is to assess the urgent medical needs of patients and stabilize their conditions. Paramedics are the most highly trained emergency medical responders.

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. – with weekend and holiday requirements.

Provide duties that assist in providing patient care in the Emergency Department under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Perform EKGs, CPR, phlebotomy and oral, nasal and ET suctioning.

Initiate cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy and saline locks.

Apply orthopaedic appliances and simple splints.

Assist with equipment setup, chest tubes, gastric lavage, LP, etc.

Assist with sterile procedures and cleaning and maintaining supplies and equipment.

Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic training program

Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP) in Ohio

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Crossupon hire or within one year of start date in the Emergency Department

Clinical experience through an EMS Paramedic training program

International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)

Experience in a hospital setting or city ambulance

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
