Job Summary
The Procurement Coordinator in the Division of Student Affairs is responsible for procuring goods and services, ensuring all transactions are accurate, compliant, and aligned with university, state, and federal policies. The role manages procurement requests, verifies accounting transactions, and oversees financial systems for proper fund collection and distribution.
Primary Duties
Manage financial accounts, revenue, and expenditures for procured goods and services.
Maintain knowledge of and enforce university and state purchasing policies.
Process purchase requisitions, reimbursements, journal entries, travel, and purchasing card transactions.
Maintain purchasing files and ensure timely receipt and payment of purchases.
Operate within a shared services model to support divisional procurement needs.
Use the divisional finance ticketing system to process requests promptly.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of accounting, auditing, banking, budgeting, and financial management principles.
Knowledge of state government fiscal and accounting processes.
Understanding of public utilities’ organization and financing of major extensions.
Familiarity with office practices and procedures.
Knowledge of state laws and regulations pertaining to university finances.
Financial statement analysis skills.
Proficiency with mathematical concepts and analytical skills.
Ability to balance and reconcile accounts.
Act as a liaison with internal and external departments and agencies.
Effective communication skills.
Capability to read and understand reporting tools and generate ledgers.
Advanced Excel skills.
Knowledge of the University receipting system and PeopleSoft accounts receivable.
Knowledge of accounting and business practices in relation to state procurement and fiscal reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with USC and/or state procurement policies.
