You would be responsible for the daily operations, including staff and workflow, for the Lung Cancer Screening Program (LCSP). Supports all aspects of the LCSP database including data extraction and entry, statistical reporting, and enhancements, including participating in community outreach events. Works with referring physician offices and clinics to manage initial referrals through follow-up imaging tests and workup for all suspicious findings.

Guides patients through the screening, enrollment, and appointment process and w orks together with program staff to Schedule appointments and diagnostic studies, obtain prior authorizations and track status of patients in database.

Performs program Quality assessment checks, audits, and reviews.

Provides assistance and collaboration to establish processes and standards that ensure consistent patient scheduling including follow up diagnostic imaging exams.

Conducts outreach with potential referring providers and works collaboratively with physician liaisons and related departments to increase referrals to the program.

Distributes patient letters, provides follow-up and confirmation calls and r esponsible for collecting and maintaining patient responses to program surveys. Responsible for maintaining the LCSP database, which includes data entry, patient letters, patient management activities and statistical reporting.

Responsible for managing the National Lung Cancer Screening Registry including extracting data from operative reports, pathology reports and imaging and manually uploading into the ACR to maintain accreditation standards.

Serves as an active member of the Lung Cancer Screening Program Steering committee and as an ad-hoc member to the Thoracic Tumor Board committee. Serves as an ad-hoc member to the Lung Cancer Tumor Board team.

Ensures all accreditation requirements are adhered to, gathers, and submits required data in a timely fashion.

Coordinates with Patient Financial Services and the Finance Department as needed. Assists in tracking the financial impact of program. Prepares analytical data as requested.

Helps plan and organize community outreach events, working collaboratively with THOfNE department such as Community Health and Wellness, Oncology, and other departments. Assists in the planning of specialized lung cancer and smoking cessation events and programs during key times of the year including lung cancer awareness month.

Provides cross-coverage to the thoracic surgery clinic and oncology clinic as needed.

Position Hours: Monday - Friday; hours can be flexible around start/end times

Minimally requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree in related field is preferred. Medical Assistant and/or certified tumor registrar (CTR) preferred.

Advanced knowledge of computer systems, Microsoft office-Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. Requires exceptional data entry skills.

Strong customer service skills required. Excellent communication skills required to interact with all levels of Clinic personnel. Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimum supervision.
