Attorney - associate - law

A well-established and growing plaintiff-side law firm in the Indianapolis metropolitan area is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its personal injury and workers’ compensation practice.

The firm represents individuals who have been injured in accidents or at work and is known for providing attentive, results-driven legal representation. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative and fast-paced team with experienced attorneys, paralegals, and legal support professionals.

The ideal candidate is ready to take ownership of cases, build strong client relationships, and grow within a supportive legal environment. Attorneys with plaintiff-side personal injury or workers’ compensation experience are encouraged to apply, although the firm is also open to candidates interested in transitioning into these practice areas.

About the Role

The Associate Attorney will manage an assigned caseload while working closely with experienced attorneys and support staff. This is a hands‑on position offering meaningful client interaction and opportunities to participate in all stages of a case, from initial intake through settlement or litigation.

Responsibilities include:

Meeting with prospective clients to evaluate claims and assist with signing new cases

Managing personal injury and workers’ compensation matters from intake through resolution

Developing case strategies and advising clients throughout the life of their cases

Reviewing medical records, insurance policies, employment records, and related documentation

Negotiating settlements with insurance carriers, adjusters, and defense counsel

Handling medical lien and balance-reduction negotiations to help maximize client recoveries

Drafting correspondence, pleadings, settlement demands, motions, and other legal documents

Maintaining regular communication with clients, medical providers, insurance representatives, and opposing counsel

Working collaboratively with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys to move cases forward efficiently

Participating in occasional evening client appointments when necessary to accommodate client schedules

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

An active license to practice law in Indiana

Plaintiff-side personal injury or workers’ compensation experience preferred, but not required

Strong written, verbal, analytical, and negotiation skills

Excellent organizational and case-management abilities

The ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage a high-volume caseload

Strong attention to detail and sound legal judgment

A compassionate, client-focused approach

A commitment to delivering excellent client service

A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a collaborative team

Compensation

The firm offers a flexible and negotiable compensation structure that includes a competitive base salary and performance-based bonuses.

Depending on experience, performance, and case results, the total first-year earning potential may reach or exceed $150,000 .
