Human Resources Clerk

DG Foods, LLC is seeking to hire a Human Resources Clerk located at our facility in Bastrop, LA. This position is responsible for performing administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the Human Resources Department. DG Foods has a very aggressive compensation program based on performance. This position reports to the Human Resources Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

Review resumes and applications for completeness and qualifications.

Phone screens all qualified candidates.

Schedules interviews between candidates and hiring managers.

Maintain applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment databases.

Prepare and process hiring paperwork and employment documents.

Assist with onboarding new employees by collecting required forms and documentation.

Maintain accurate personnel and recruitment records.

Respond to inquiries from candidates and provide information about open positions.

Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.

Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.

Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.

Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.

Provides clerical support to the HR department.

May assist with payroll functions, including answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.

Conducts and/or assists with new hire orientation.

Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.

Makes photocopies; mails, scans, and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Maintains a valid driver's license.

Must have excellent organizational and critical thinking skills.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to always maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality.

Strong conflict resolution and customer service skills are essential.

Bilingual in Spanish is extremely desirable.

Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office 365, Canva, HRIS and/or related software.

Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent with at least 3 years working in an office environment; Associate/Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, communication, or related field with at least 1 year of experience is preferred but not required.

Other combinations of education and experience will also be considered.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of working in an office environment.

Must be able to lift objects not exceeding 20 pounds on occasion.
