K5 Elementary Teacher
Big Pine Academy is seeking a passionate, student-centered K5 Elementary Teacher dedicated to fostering academic growth, curiosity, and a positive classroom environment. Teachers in Big Pine Academy work in a supportive, collaborative school culture with access to rich environmental and community-based learning opportunities unique to the small island school in the Florida Keys.
Create a warm, engaging, and structured classroom environment
Collaborate with grade-level teams and support staff
Eligibility for Florida Educator Certification in: Elementary Education (K6) or Pre-K/Primary (Age 3Grade 3)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Salary Range: Starting $62,700, depending on verified teaching experience
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision options are available
Paid Leave: 10 days annually for teachers starting in August
Standard school hours 7:45 AM 3:00 PM
How to Become FL Certified in Elementary Education (Grades K-6): Out-of-State Certification: If you hold an unexpired, out-of-state, professional educator certificate in this subject area, please apply for Florida reciprocity.
Elem Ed Major: Commonly accepted bachelor's (or higher degree) majors for a Florida temporary educator certificate include: Elementary Education 1-6, K-6, N/K-6, K-3, K-4, K-8, K-9, and Upper Elementary 4-6.
Other Majors: For other degree majors, passing the FTCE Subject Area Exam in Elementary Education K6 is required. Visit the testing website for further details.
