JOB SUMMARY The Flooring Estimator plays a critical role in supporting project planning and execution by ensuring accurate material take-offs and cost estimates for flooring projects. This position works closely with internal teams and vendors to gather project details, analyze specifications, and deliver timely and accurate proposals.

Success in this role means estimates are completed accurately and on time, project requirements are clearly understood, and materials are aligned to support operational and customer expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare accurate material take-offs and cost estimates for flooring projects based on plans, specifications, and project documentation.

Review and interpret construction drawings, bid documents, and project revisions to ensure estimates reflect current project scope.

Coordinate with vendors to obtain pricing and ensure estimates are aligned with current material costs.

Develop and maintain estimating templates to support consistency and efficiency across projects

Utilize estimating software and Microsoft Excel to generate proposals and maintain accurate records.

Monitor and respond to estimate requests, ensuring timely delivery of proposals to support project timelines.

Communicate effectively with internal teams to clarify project requirements and resolve discrepancies.

Follow company policies and procedures, including safety and compliance standards.

High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic estimating tools.

Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.

Experience in flooring, construction, or building materials estimation.

Familiarity with estimating software or project management systems.

Experience in flooring estimation is helpful but not required. Frequently required to remain in a stationary position and move throughout the office or job site to access materials, plans, and equipment.

Frequently operates a computer and other office equipment, including keyboard, mouse, and phone.

Vision: Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and computer screens, and to identify discrepancies in documents and materials.

Office/Facility: Work is primarily performed in a professional, climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels (e.g., computers, phones, and light foot traffic).

Job Site/Field: May require occasional visits to job sites with exposure to outdoor conditions, seasonal weather, and varying terrain.

Role may require meeting deadlines and working in a fast-paced environment to support estimating and project timelines.

Requires adherence to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when visiting job sites.
