Registered Nurse - Hematology Oncology
Schedule
This position requires 12-hour night shifts, working from 7 PM to 7 AM.
Job Description
Join our team as a Registered Nurse specializing in Hematology Oncology. You will work in a dynamic environment, providing care for patients with hematological and oncological conditions. The successful candidate will have significant experience in a Level 1 trauma hospital setting, displaying strong time management skills and a commitment to teamwork.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care for patients in a Hematology Oncology unit.
Administer chemotherapy and manage care for high acuity patients.
Monitor patient vital signs and responses, including titration of ordered drips.
Collaborate closely with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the EPIC system.
Participate in the orientation and training of new staff members as needed.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Level 1 or large hospital (500+ beds).
EPIC proficiency is required; no on-site training will be provided.
BLS certification is mandatory; ACLS is required for Charge RNs.
Experience with intravenous lines, chest tubes, and oncology nursing is preferred.
Recent travel assignment experience is highly preferred.
Flu vaccine is required by November 15, with medical exemptions considered.
