Description:
The unit is a 32-bed telemetry unit specializing in oncology care.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4.
All RNs will be expected to complete skills assessments related to Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, with the exception of certain departments.
Competency in these areas is critical due to their frequency in nursing practice.
Educational sessions will include lifts, restraints, and wound care, tailored to the specific policies of the facility.
Weekend work is required, with at least one weekend shift per month.
Holiday shifts are based on unit coverage and rotation.
The EMR system utilized is Cerner.
Nurses will be responsible for interpreting EKGs and handling telemetry monitoring.
There is support available from an IV team for difficult access cases.
Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support are available 24/7.
Floating to other medical-surgical/telemetry units may be required.
The common patient populations include oncology patients and medical-surgical patients.
The facility reserves the right to cancel shifts as per policy.
