RN - Registered Nurse - ICU - Neurology (Weekend Position)

Location: Dayton, OH

Schedule / Job Type: Contract (13- or 18-week assignments available) | Nights, 4×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Neuro ICU setting, treating neurological diseases and disorders including seizures and strokes within a comprehensive stroke center. Manage overflow ICU patients from Medical Surgical ICU and Heart and Vascular ICU as needed. Read and interpret cardiac strips as part of ongoing patient monitoring and assessment. Float within the specialty cluster or to other units/campuses as directed, accepting medically appropriate assignments or supporting the nursing care team of the assigned unit. Be available to work every other weekend and every other holiday as required.

Required Qualifications: Active RN license (any active state license or compact license accepted); candidates with any past license disciplinary action will not be considered. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience as a Registered Nurse. Minimum of 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and/or 2 years of comprehensive stroke center experience in a large hospital setting with some neurological experience. ACLS certification required. BLS certification required. NIHSS certification required. Epic EMR proficiency required. Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local travelers are not accepted.

Preferred Experience / Skills: Experience in a comprehensive stroke center environment. Comfort with floating to multiple campuses or units based on census and skill set, with no restrictions or special requests. Familiarity with dysrhythmia interpretation and EKG assessment.
