System Engineering (Mechanical)

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Mechanical Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will get to use your mechanical engineer skills to focus on HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression and/or facility systems to support Critical Infrastructure projects.Under the direction of a Senior engineer, prepares standard engineering deliverables such as drawings, calculations, specifications, reports and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.Performs site surveys of existing facilities for as-built document generation, rehabilitation designs, and for construction support of new facilities. Coordinates design input and technical guidance with architects and other engineers to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into the project.Utilization of CAD and/or Building Information Modeling design software is expected.Reviewing and approving mechanical system drawings, specifications, and construction documents for accuracy and completeness.Performing technical evaluations of mechanical equipment and systems to ensure they meet performance, safety, and sustainability goals.What Required Skills You'll Bring:4-year degree in Mechanical EngineeringEngineer-in-Training (EIT) registration and/or Masters Degree are beneficial.5+ years of related work experienceIn addition to the above credentials, basic understanding and/or experience in the design and specification of a wide variety of mechanical systems are preferred. HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, steam systems, cooling water systems, pumps, fans, compressors, cooling towers, plumbing systems, fire suppression systems, and other building services related systems.What Desired Skills You'll Bring:Experience in LRT, Metro, or Railway /transit design projects is beneficial.Experience in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM), Computer Aided Design (CAD), scheduling software, or file management software is a plus.
