Whether you've got deep experience in commercial real estate, skilled trades or technology, or you're looking to apply your relevant experience to a new industry, join our team as we help shape a brighter way forward.What this job involves:Serve as an engineering leader at JLL!The Chief Engineer oversees the efficient, safe and responsible operation of all building systems and equipment while also leading the engineering team.Schedule: Monday to Friday, approximately 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., with flexibility based on building needs and an on-call rotationServe as the engineering leader for JLL Class A office building in downtown New Orleans.What your day-to-day will look like:Oversee the maintenance and continuous operation of all building systemsSupervise and manage engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, coaching and personal developmentCreate and routinely update a documented plan that includes preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance proceduresParticipate regularly in client-facing and property team communicationsLead, create and manage engineering budget and participate in overall operating budget processAssist in the development of a capital improvement planSelect, schedule, supervise and direct contractors; monitor and document performanceRespond effectively to emergencies and service callsLead and organize ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs and proceduresOther duties as requested by property management team and/or clientOn-site presence requiredComplete job description available on JLL's internal portalRequired qualifications:7+ years of related experience, especially as a Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer or similarPeople management experience (leading a team)Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirableUniversal CFC EPA certificationExperience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)Ability to lift up to 50 lbsComfort using ladders up to 30 feet tallAbility to frequently climb, bend, kneeling, lift and/or driveStrong customer service and communication skillsValid driver LicenseThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
