Responsible for all aspects of staff pharmacist role with minimally required pharmacy personnel and adjusted workflows. Verifies new medication orders, checking prepared medications, overseeing dispensing from the pharmacy, and completing clinical patient review for safety and accuracy. Provides safe, efficient, high quality, patient-centered, and evidence-based medication services to all patients. In cooperation with other pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, acts as a resource and provides answers to drug information questions for patients and family members, pharmacists, nurses, physicians, advanced practice providers, medical students, undergraduate and graduate pharmacy students, and other associated hospital personnel. Screens for drug-drug, drug-herb/dietary supplement, drug-allergy, drug-food, drug-disease state, and drug-laboratory interactions. Using clinical privileges, adjusts medications based on route of medication administration access, monitors and adjusts medications based on renal, hepatic, antithrombotic indications, and hematologic parameters, and orders and adjusts laboratory tests related to monitoring medication therapy. This position functions to coordinate all aspects of patients' pharmaceutical needs at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. coordination of patients' pharmaceutical needs with physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses; utilization of clinical pharmacy privileges to promote optimal medication practices; Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. This position is also responsible for pharmacy technician oversight during their designated shift.

Licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in Ohio.
