Our 164-bed inpatient services for adolescents through senior adulthood offers comprehensive and individual assessments, psychiatric evaluation and medication stabilization, daily group therapy and personalized aftercare planning. We are currently seeking a Director of Risk Management to join our talented and caring team. What does the Director, Risk Management do at Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services?

The Director of Risk Management oversees the hospital-wide risk management program with a broad responsibility to protect the hospital's assets from loss. This role is responsible for coordinating the loss control efforts and advising management and administration on all potential sources of loss and for making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure. The Director of Risk Management acts as the hospital's Compliance Officer and coordinates with the Director of Quality & Performance Improvement on hospital-wide action plans and corrective actions. The structure and functions of the position are designed so as to comply with guidelines and standards of the Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory agencies. Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field. RN or Master's degree in healthcare-related field preferred. Training in healthcare compliance activities and healthcare safety/risk management preferred.

Experience: Five (5) years' experience in risk management in a hospital setting. Three (3) years' management experience. Experience must include knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards.

Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) in lieu of license.

Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the application of regulatory standards established by NC DHHS, The Joint Commission and CMS applicable to acute care hospitals.

Able to work collaboratively, diplomatically, and with integrity in problem identification, project management, and problem solving activities.

Demonstrated knowledge of ethical principles and compliance issues in a healthcare setting.

Demonstrated basic understanding of medical terminology.

Demonstrated ability to manage by influence in a consultative role.

Ability to work independently, exercise appropriate action and good business judgement.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with database systems.
