Construction Procurement Buyer

Next 150 Construction, a fully owned subsidiary of Gilbane Building Company, is seeking a Purchasing Agent II to be responsible for the pre‑ and post‑bid process on one or more projects. You will protect and promote the interests of both Gilbane and the client in all matters, demonstrating the personal characteristics of a developing leader.

Administers the bid process from project kickoff to award, including system set‑up, bid package strategy, Project Manual creation, bid list management, drafting and reviewing bid package scope of work, bid meetings, bid leveling, and recommendation to award.

Administers the contract process, including preparing and entering contracts and procurement change orders; assists in negotiation of contract terms; ensures contract compliance.

Assists in identifying and monitoring current market conditions, trade contractors, trends, and costs.

Communicates and coordinates with trade contractors, vendors, and jobsite personnel while supporting internal and external customers.

Assists with trade partner risk mitigation strategy and execution, coordinating with operations teams and risk management.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar technical field.

4+ years of purchasing and/or construction experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Construction law, contracts, and risk management.

Preparing Project Manual.

Participation in the GMP process and understanding the importance of Purchasing’s role regarding trade partners and prequalification.

Coordinating effective procurement of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC).

Hybrid work model; S. location with a Gilbane office.

Competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $110,000 plus benefits and retirement program.
