The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by Store Management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities).

Sales Generation and Guest Service

Answer questions about the store and its merchandise.

Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on guest needs.

Anticipate and fulfill guest’s needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobe experience.

Demonstrate product using knowledge and sales education, sharing with team.

Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, payment and exchange policies, and security practices.

Maintain personal sales, aiming for goals set by Store Management.

Provide legendary service throughout the store in key areas: front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, register.

Help guests try on or fit merchandise.

Prepare merchandise for alterations.

Use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to achieve goals.

Meet or exceed performance standards in business builders and guest loyalty.

Place special orders or call other stores to find desired merchandise.

Maintain knowledge of Buckle’s customer service expectations.

Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development

Recognize recruiting opportunities using Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals and teammate recommend.

Maintain a professional and respectful attitude, fostering a positive floor culture.

Present merchandise to maximize sales and achieve optimum merchandise turn.

Collaborate with teammates and guests to identify product improvements and new ideas.

Ensure the sales floor is stocked and new freight displayed appropriately.

Operations

Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Open and close registers, handle cash, balance drawers and make deposits.

Identify and handle security risks and thefts; use loss‑prevention guidelines.

Execute policies regarding payments, exchanges and loss prevention.

Perform merchandising tasks: handling freight, re‑merchandising, preparing displays, markdowns and transfers.

Keep store clean, organized and shoppable.

Provide feedback to manager and leadership on merchandise concerns.

Communicate policy violations and concerns confidentially to managers and HR.

Apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and policies.

Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

No prior experience or training required.
