Northrop Grumman Defense Systems currently has an opening for a Systems Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), development of requirements and multiple system engineering modelsCoordination & collaboration with the System Engineering and Command & Launch Segment System Engineering TeamsSupporting system, segment, element and unit level trade studiesDefinition of high-level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, subsequent analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, and tracking them through design, verification, integration, and operational validationSupporting a team of engineers to create, mature and present comprehensive and cohesive technical charts representative of the appropriate level of maturation for any given milestone meeting and demonstrating team readiness in relation to achieving the milestone entrance and exit criteriaIdentifying required contractual deliverables and non-contractual documentation and driving corresponding updates to closureCoordinating and collaborating with diverse engineering design teams to assist in managing the technical baselineThis position may be filled at level 2 or level 3 depending upon the qualifications of the applicant.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor of Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 2 years of experience; Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 yearsMust be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs1+ year of experience developing or reviewing requirements within DOORS or similar tool1+ year of experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) OR complex aerospace/defense systemsPrincipal Systems Engineer (level 3):Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years' experience; or 1 years' experience with a PhD.
