Women's Care Unit - Registered Nurse

Clinical Staff - Nursing
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Behavioral Health Service Line (BHSL) Women's unit consistently provides effective direct care to a variety of patients, will work as part of the interdisciplinary team, based on licensure, title and competencies. The RN seeks, as well as provides, feedback for improved clinical practice. The RN integrates theory and research into clinical practice. The RN provides leadership to members of the nursing team in order to maintain patient care standards. The RN works under the direct supervision of the Clinical Services Manager (CSM). Promotion is based on years of experience, satisfactory performance appraisals and recommendation by manager. Employee must successfully complete a UAMS-sponsored conflict management training to identify, prevent, and mitigate disruptive behaviors using methods such as non-escalation, de-escalation, personal protection from physical assaults, and physical alternatives within six months of hire.
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelors in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing

• Valid RN License
• Minimum of 1 year Registered Nursing experience
• Basic computer skills
• 1 year of psychiatric experience

Collects and documents assessment data.
Develops a Plan of Care (POC) per standard.
Implements POC including medical order and interdisciplinary approach.
Provides effective patient/family education/discharge planning.
Delivers patient care using the principles of the defined nursing modality.
Delegates care based on UAMS standards, legal and regulatory requirements, specific job description and individual level of education and training.
Contributes to a positive work environment that is conducive to clinical education while serving as a resource for student nurses and staff.
