The Debra Simon Center at Hackensack University Medical Center is seeking a dynamic Child and Adolescent Psychologist to join our interdisciplinary healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive, outcome-driven outpatient care to patients facing a full range of DSM diagnoses, often complicated by compound stressors and comorbid medical conditions.

This is more than just a clinical role—it is a unique opportunity for significant professional growth. You will play a pivotal role in developing new treatment tracks, creating programming to reduce patient hospitalizations, and leading the expansion of our psychology training programs!

Responsibilities

Deliver Exceptional Care: Participate in all phases of the outpatient process, including intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and creating robust treatment plans.

Utilize Evidence-Based Treatments: Provide outcome-oriented psychotherapy using CBT, DBT, and ACT in individual, family, and group settings.

Lead & Mentor: Supervise, train, and mentor junior clinical staff, medical students, and trainees. You will also take an active role in building and developing our psychology externship, internship, and post-doctoral programs.

Drive Outcomes: Utilize brief assessment tools and outcome-driven data to continuously evaluate and modify treatment effectiveness.

Collaborate & Consult: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to optimize whole-person health. Serve as a behavioral health consultant and liaison for departments across the medical center and community agencies.

Qualifications

Education: Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) from an APA-accredited program in Clinical Psychology.

Training: Completion of an APA-approved internship in Pediatric and/or Adult Clinical Psychology.

Licensure: Active New Jersey Psychologist License.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of related clinical experience serving a diverse patient population. The ideal candidate is certified in DBT or has 5+ years of experience working in a comprehensive DBT program.

COMPENSATION

Starting Base Salary: $113,609.60 Annually

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
