This role focuses on delivering outstanding customer service while driving sales, and keeping merchandise organized and the floor well-stocked.

Responsibilities Greet and assist customers promptly: Approach and acknowledge customers immediately, provide assistance, and handle multiple customers efficiently.

Understand and meet customer needs: Assess needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing to merchandise, and offering recommendations. Engage in suggestive selling while staying informed on product availability.

Promote store events and promotions: Inform customers about current store events and promotions to enhance their shopping experience and drive sales.

Resolve customer concerns: Address issues and use product knowledge to offer alternative solutions, aiming to turn returns into exchanges when possible.

Communicate needs to management: Regularly inform management about merchandise restocking, service requirements, and customer feedback in a timely manner.

Support team and company goals: Collaborate with the team to achieve store and company objectives, contributing to a positive work environment.

Qualifications At least 16 years old

Available to work a flexible schedule

Comfortable with or willing to learn technology (such as cash registers, hand-held and mobile devices)

Good communicator with the ability to engage with customers

Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues courteously and professionally

Use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems

Ability to learn procedural knowledge acquired through on-the-job training

Essential Job Functions Frequently operate cash register

Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove merchandise up to a height of 5-10 feet

Frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and stock merchandise

Frequently position self to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop in stock room and on the sales floor

Frequently communicate with customers, managers, and coworkers in person or by phone, exchanging accurate information

Frequently move across the sales floor assisting customers and transporting merchandise

Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends, and possibly overnight shifts and travel as required

Identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures

Remain in a stationary, upright position for up to 80% of the time
