This state-of-the-art facility offers Lake County residents enhanced access to Cleveland Clinic, one of the nation’s top healthcare systems. With four operating rooms, 34 inpatient care rooms and a helipad, we are making access to high-quality care close to home easier than ever for our Lake County patients. Mentor Hospital’s Emergency Department is a 19-bed department that provides 24/7 emergency care to diverse populations of patients. With an innovative virtual platform, the Emergency Department has a telehealth “robot” (a mobile telehealth station) to host consults for patients.As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life‑saving treatment.

Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources.

A caregiver in this position PRN (as needed) variable shifts.

Provide direct nursing care.

Implement and monitor patient care plans.

Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care.

Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

External applicants must have two years recent related nursing experience.

Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience but post orientation /90 day probationary period could be considered with Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval.

Will consider military RN experience

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department

Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)

Emergency Nurse

Experience in a critical care background

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
