Details Med/Surg Telemetry unit at a teaching hospital Day (3x12, ) or Night (3x12, ) shifts with every other weekend rotation Holiday coverage required as needed Floating required as needed Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active WI RN or compact RN license required BLS certification required (AHA only) Minimum two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty Epic EMR experience required, within past 12 months preferred Teaching hospital experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and IV insulin protocols including titration of insulin drips Nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management skills Oxygen administration experience All references must be removed prior to consideration Additional Information Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting the assignment Adult exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms and no more than one incorrect answer on 3rd degree heart block questions, with a passing score of 80% or higher Pediatric exam requires identification of key rhythms with a passing score of 80% or higher Two attempts allowed to pass the telemetry exam; a third attempt requires completion of a cardiac interpretation review course Assignment will be cancelled if the exam is not passed after three attempts Facility is a Magnet-designated teaching hospital and referral center Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available American Traveler Job ID P- .
