Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 38-bed Medical Surgical unit managing a diverse patient population including surgical, orthopedic, urological, and general medical diagnoses
Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6; must be able to manage a 1:6 ratio , with high patient turnover on days including admissions following discharges
Titrate drips including Heparin; administer set-rate drips such as Bumex and Lasix
Conduct bedside shift report and perform proactive patient rounding
Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, nursing supervisors, and respiratory therapy to support team-based care
May float to IMCU for Medical Surgical assignments as needed
Required Qualifications
Active RN license
BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record documentation
Experience with bedside shift report and ability to manage a 1:6 patient ratio
Experience aligned with the shift being applied for (Days)
Must live at least 45 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with orthopedic, spinal, or general surgical patient populations
Familiarity with respiratory therapy equipment such as trachs, CPAP, BiPAP, or high-flow oxygen
Comfort working with patients ranging from older adolescents through adults across a wide variety of diagnoses
