POSITION SUMMARY: Perform routine custodial activities at an assigned school site or facility to maintain buildings, locker rooms, and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly and secure condition.

REPORTS TO: Custodial Supervisor

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform routine custodial activities at assigned District school site; sweep, scrub, mop, wax, and polish floors, vacuum rugs and carpets in classrooms, offices, workshops, and other assigned work areas. Remove trash from the buildings inside and outside. Perform blood and bodily fluid cleanup. During summer cleaning: spot clean and shampoo carpets.

Clean classrooms, restrooms, showers, locker rooms, shops, cafeteria and offices.

Recommend needed custodial supplies and equipment.

Respond to request from District personnel and faculty to assist with a variety of emergency or special custodial and clean-up duties.

Participate in the cleaning and care of classrooms, restrooms, offices, showers, shops and related facilities in a clean, safe and orderly manner; clean custodial equipment as needed.

Assure compliance with local laws and procedures regarding the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish and waste.

Participate as needed in all custodial duties including; sweeping, scrubbing mopping and waxing floors; vacuum carpets in classrooms, offices, workshops, and other work areas; wash windows facilities; assist with snow removal as needed. During summer cleaning wash chalkboards, paint walls, dust, clean furniture, and shampoo rugs.

Perform minor mon-technical repairs and adjustment to building, equipment and fixtures; report repair and maintenance needs and assist maintenance personnel in making repairs as required.

Report unauthorized or suspicious individuals on campus to appropriate personnel; turn lights on and off; unlock and lock doors and gates; report sanitation and safety issues and hazards.

Participate during summer months with special cleaning assignments.

Operate a variety of equipment, machines and tools related to custodial work.

Meet schedules and time lines.

Maintain tools and equipment in cleaning work order and provide proper security.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Performs other custodial related tasks as may be request by the Superintendent or Director of Building, Grounds and Maintenance.

EDUCATION: Any combination equivalent to - high school diploma, G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky Law.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $12 to $19 Per Hour
