We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic Psychiatric Physician Assistant to join our Behavioral Health Urgent Care team for a part-time night shift position. Initially, the chosen candidate will undergo training during daytime hours, working three 8-hour shifts, 24 hours per week from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. After the training period, this position will move to two 12-hr shifts, 24 hours a week, working 8:00 pm - 8:30 am.

In addition to the $3,750 signing bonus , this position will also receive an 8% premium for working third shift.

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer or designee, performs evaluations, diagnoses, ongoing assessments, and treatment of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, and/or developmental disabilities. Identifies client needs, makes treatment plans and referrals, and provides medication management and psycho-educational support in collaboration with existing medical staff and program; Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program or Nurse Practitioner that is dual certified (mental health and medical).

Fully licensed in the State of Michigan as a Physician Assistant or dual certified Nurse Practitioner, has Michigan Controlled Substance License, Current DEA license, & Current MCCPA (PA) or ANCC (NP) certification.

May have to work holidays, nights and weekends

Three (3) years’ experience working as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (dual certified) AND three (3) years clinical experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or developmental disabilities, including assessment, medication management, and crisis intervention in the outpatient or inpatient setting.

Experience working as a certified Physician Assistant in collaboration with a psychiatrist.

Position must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, including the use of hands and fingers for handling, grasping, typing, writing, or operating equipment with or without reasonable accommodation
