Construction, Underground Utility Laborer

Congruex provides digital infrastructure solutions through engineering and construction services that connect communities nationwide. This includes wireline, wireless, data centers, and utility services from initial concept to market go-live. As the UG Laborer , you will ultimately be responsible for supporting underground utility construction activities, assisting equipment operators, and maintaining safe and efficient jobsite operations. You will perform manual labor tasks related to trenching, conduit placement, site preparation, and restoration. Your customers are internal construction crews and external utility clients, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company’s success through teamwork, safety, and operational support.

Operate tamping machines and inspect equipment for daily use and maintenance

Assist with loading and unloading jobsite materials and maintaining clean work areas

Support excavation activities including trenching, shoring, backfilling, and conduit placement

Perform potholing of existing utilities and assist with setting structures

Support concrete forming, pouring, asphalt prep, and restoration activities

High school diploma or equivalent required

Basic construction industry knowledge preferred

Experience with underground utility construction preferred

Strong understanding of safety procedures and policies

Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods in various weather conditions

Previous underground utility construction experience

Experience operating small equipment and hand tools

CDL license preferred

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform manual labor for extended periods

Work performed outdoors in all weather conditions

Exposure to excavation sites, heavy equipment, dust, noise, and uneven terrain
