We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Daytime Emergency Veterinarian to join our team at AnimERge. We do also have swing and overnight shift available. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality veterinary care and possess excellent communication skills to build lasting relationships with our clients. You will work alongside a team of experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff and will work closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Director.

AnimERge in Raritan, New Jersey is a well-established, AAHA-accredited specialty and emergency center known for its collaborative culture and long-term staff retention, with many team members serving for over 20 years. This position is ideal for clinicians who enjoy the pace, variety, and clinical autonomy of emergency medicine while valuing a collaborative team environment and structured scheduling that supports long-term sustainability and work–life balance. Our daytime emergency clinicians benefit from strong support from experienced technicians and staff, close collaboration with our specialty and emergency teams, and the opportunity to manage a diverse and rewarding caseload in a well-established hospital. You will work collaboratively with a skilled team of emergency veterinarians, board-certified specialists, certified veterinary technicians, and experienced support staff, with strong leadership support from hospital and regional management.

Our overnight team benefits from block scheduling, allowing veterinarians to work scheduled groups of overnight shifts followed by meaningful time off to rest, reset, and maintain personal commitments. This structure minimizes schedule fragmentation and promotes consistency, recovery, and overall well-being—making overnight emergency work both professionally rewarding and sustainable.

A fully equipped hospital including, Digital radiography and ultrasound,In-house laboratory (Heska and IDEXX analyzers: CBC, chemistry, blood gas, electrolytes, coagulation, and SNAP testing),Feline and canine endoscopy,Four oxygen cages, and a dedicated emergency surgical suite

Comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups

Performing diagnostic procedures and surgery

Maintaining accurate medical records

Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations

Evaluate and monitor protocols for the daily running of the hospital from intake to discharge

Monitor cases in the hospital and attend daily rounds when possible to be sure the highest standards are being upheld

Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels

Current State Veterinary License

DEA registration must be obtained and maintained

1+ years of experience in a veterinary emergency practice

Excellent surgical and dental skills.

Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality veterinary care.

Excellent Communication Skills and the ability to communicate effectively, efficiently, and in a timely manner with all members of the Medical and Hospital staff.

Some tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work.

Clinical Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrate clinical knowledge and skill in examining and assessing animals. Perform cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological and other necessary examinations. Ability to develop solutions to challenges relating to the management of a high‑quality veterinary hospital.

Display effective communication with internal medical and hospital staff.

Professionalism: Work as part of a high‑quality, professional veterinary team with the ability to provide and receive appropriate constructive criticism, suggestions, and feedback.

Business Acumen: Ability to understand the management and finances of the veterinary hospital practice.
