Navy's most powerful warships. Join us as we continue to maintain the Navy's readiness! We are seeking a Marine Electrician to serve on our SEMAT Hawaii team located in Pearl Harbor, HI. This Marine Electrician will be responsible for performing electrical maintenance and training to assist shipboard personnel in the operation, maintenance, and repair of specific items of engineering systems/equipment onboard USN Surface Ships.
Perform electrical maintenance and training to assist shipboard personnel in the operation, maintenance, and repair of specific items of engineering systems/equipment onboard USN Surface Ships.
Responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors and ability to provide work directions to others.
Develops and uses technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.
Schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management. May perform quality inspections on finished product.
Performs duties outside of specialty to complete installation or work assignment.
Must have shipboard electrical maintenance and repair experience.
Must be able to read and interpret equipment and system ship drawings and ship technical documents and manuals.
Must be competent in the use of electrical equipment and tools in corrective repair efforts to accomplish ship repairs.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Confidential security clearance.
Must be physically able to climb and work on ships in an industrial environment.
Bonus Points For
Recent electrical experience onboard USN ships.
A current, valid DOD Confidential security clearance or higher
Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
May ride ships at sea for extended periods.
Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
