Counselor - Full Time Temporary

Wage - $28.63 per hour

Schedule – Full Time, 8hr shifts, Monday – Friday

• MTC is proud to operate the South Bronx Job Corps Center in Bronx, NY where our staff provide quality services to our local youth. You'll be responsible for conducting direct recruitment activities, and interfacing with other outreach contractors in compliance with government and management directives.

develop linkages with referral sources such as human services agencies, recreation centers, youth organizations and churches; Prepare, schedule and provide outreach presentations in the assigned area; provide outreach presentations in support of the regional outreach efforts.

• Refer youth to designated screening or other support agencies, as appropriate.
• Initiate applications with interested prospects during outreach events.
• Support applicants with document upload, as needed.
• Promote the development of career success standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students when necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
• Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy.
• Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field; or an associate's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications or closely related field and two years related experience required. Experience may include successful Job Corps outreach and admissions experience or successful outreach and admissions experience with other youth development programs.
